The axle bar's thicker diameter (2 inches) forces your hands, forearms, and grip muscles to work much harder. This directly improves grip strength, which benefits everything from deadlifts to pull-ups and carries.

The lack of bar flex (unlike a standard Olympic bar) and awkward grip makes it harder to "cheat" reps with momentum. This helps promote cleaner, more controlled lifts, especially in movements like cleans or overhead presses.
