Multi-Purpose Olympic Utility Barbell - Bells of Steel

We got the bar a month ago. My wife and I workout three or four times per week. I’ve used it up to 315 pounds so far with no issues. It also looks nice with the black finish.

Knurling is great, came without any blemishes. Excellent value at this price point. Easily one of the best bars you can get under $500. Recommended!

I recently bought this bar to replace a cheaper one I had that had a much lower capacity. Debated whether to go with this one or one of the expensive ones from the “other guys”. Very satisfied with the overall quality of this bar especially at the price point. Seems like I made the right choice.

I picked up the Bells of Steel Multipurpose Olympic Utility Bar in black zinc with bright zinc sleeves. This is my first purchase with Bells of Steel. I have since purchased the Bare Naked Powerlifting Barbell, Trap Bar, and Arch Nemesis Bar!

This is also the first coated barbell I've ever had (all mine have been chrome or stainless steel). It's beautiful and feels great in the hands (28.5mm is just right for a Multipurpose Barbell).

The advantage of this over a Power Bar is that it's made for all types of Barbell exercises (Powerlifting, Olympic lifting, CrossFit, etc.) and higher reps.

The knurling is less aggressive so it doesn't tear up my hands. I do wish it truly had Medium knurling as it's quite passive, but it's fine for a Multipurpose Barbell. It also has ribbed sleeves to keep weight plates from slipping off (in theory).

For under $200, this may be the best multipurpose Barbell you can get. And Bells of Steel does the BEST job of packing it to prevent damage during transport.

I'm only concerned with the long-term durability and quality of the zinc coating. I just hope it doesn't rub off easily.

Sure, there are plenty of cheaper Barbells available from numerous companies, but Bells of Steel makes high-quality equipment at competitive prices.

My only "complaint" is that it went on sale for $10 less a couple days after I purchased it. I emailed customer service about a 30-day price match guarantee and credit back to my original payment method, but they've never responded. Despite that, I highly recommend this Multipurpose barbell and Bells of Steel.

As a powerlifter who trains at home, I really enjoy training with this bar. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to purchase an all around bar for their home gym.

Been using this bar for a few weeks now and have enjoyed it. The knurling is very passive and it works nicely as an alternative to my more expensive power bar with a very aggressive knurling. Speaking of which, the quality difference vs my more expensive bar is not huge but the price of this utility bar is much lower. Will be buying more from BoS in the future I’m sure!

This barbell has been amazing so far! I love the ribbed plate stacks. The knurling is comfortable where it doesn't rip your knuckles but still gives you a good grip. Worth the price and quality! 100% recommend.

...ship a barbell, if you're concerned with how your product reaches its buyer! I haven't used the barbell yet, as yesterday was cardio HIIT day and today is Core, Stretch, and Foam Roller day, but if this is how the bar is shipped, I would imagine that BoS builds it to the same degree of consideration. The chains in the pix are also BoS chains, and I'm actually looking forward to using the chains on my new barbell for Back, Chest, and Leg days. I also have the BoS plate pins for my Functional Trainer, and the money saved by not having to buy an extra 50 lb weight stack almost paid for the bar!

Love the bar, exactly what I wanted. Only issue I have is the black zinc coating on the shaft is coming off after 2 uses. I accidentally scraped the bar on the roller j-cup when I was re-racking the bar and it got scratched easily. I thought the zinc coating would be more durable.

So far I love this barbell. It feels great, the knurling is perfect, diameter is perfect, and design overall is phenomenal. My only complaint is that one side isn't lubricated enough and makes a screeching noise when the barbell rotates.

I love the bar, its really great quality and will no doubt last a long time. I am new to the home gym scene so I have nothing to compare it to but overall, I'm happy with it. The bar did come with the shipping packaging ripped open so at first I was concerned about quality and major scratches etc. but it seems to be fine.

I Bought this barbell back in April (2022) and it showed up with some rust on the collars. The zinc coating hasn't held up at all and the cerakote gets scratched pretty easily. That being said, the knurling feels great and the bar feels solid.

I wouldn't purchase this bar again. I would either go full stainless or bare steel.

great bar, love using it, however, both sleeves have rust on them right out of the package, the orange part of the bar is great with just the right amount of knurling. shame about the rust, and it's only going to get worse.
