What is included in the essential build?
Four uprights, four side crossmembers, your selected front pull-up bar, your selected back piece and one pair of J-cups. The component list below shows the exact items and quantities for your choices.
Safeties, cable systems, Smith attachments and other extras are optional and start unselected. Free-weight barbells, weight plates and benches are sold separately.
Space, fit and setup
Choose 72″, 84″, 90″ or 108″ uprights and 24″, 30″ or 43″ internal depth, subject to availability. Internal depth is not the total footprint: allow additional room for footplates, attachments, loading plates and overhead movement. Assemble and secure the rack following the manufacturer’s instructions.
Attachments must suit true 76.2 × 76.2 mm uprights with 5/8″ holes. Check third-party attachment fit carefully; tubing size alone does not confirm compatibility.
1. Build your rack
Choose your rack size, pull-up bar, back piece and one pair of J-cups. The starting build uses the lowest-priced available essentials.
2. Make it yours
SafetiesOptional
Optional. Choose no safeties, safety straps with connectors, flip-down safeties or spotter arms. Options match your selected rack depth.
Add a cable systemOptional
Add lat pulldowns and low rows. We match the attachment to your rack height and include any required support crossmember.
Add a Smith attachmentOptional
Choose a supplied Smith bar or use your own compatible barbell. A 72″ rack requires outside mounting; the necessary front foot stabilisers are included in the total.
Add training attachmentsOptional
Choose only the extras you will use. Quantities are per item, pair or pack as labelled.
Add storageOptional
Keep plates, bars and accessories close to your rack. Check access and loading clearance around your finished setup.
Fit, dimensions and what is included
Hydra uses true 3″ × 3″ (76.2 × 76.2 mm) uprights with 5/8″ holes. The selected height is the upright size and the selected depth is the internal rack depth. Allow room for footplates, plate loading, overhead movement and any attachments. Install and anchor the rack in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Barbells, weight plates, benches and accessories are included only when listed in your parts summary.

An awesome addition to my garage gym. Read full review
Surprisingly good for a lot less
Upgraded from a 2x3 rack to the BOS Hydra and I have to say, it’s far better quality than what the images convey. Powder coat is very good as are the laser cut holes save one (1 hole wasn...Read full review
It really is a fantastic option and my only gripes are quite minor.
The bolts should have 2 washers as I bought extras to prevent the split washers from chewing up the beautiful powder coat. That should be a no brainer on BOS part and they could offset the cost simply by using a smaller OD on the washer as the BOS ones are huge.
The attachments (J-cups, spotter arms, etc) should be upgraded to have UHMW liners vs bare powder coat. Even Titan Fitness lines theirs.
And I would prefer the base plate on the uprights to be square to help with stability vs the rectangular plates they use (the same plate on the crossmembers). I get why they use the same plates for cost savings and it does make the packaging easier keeping them flat but I prefer square base plates.
Again, minor tweaks but nothing that detracts from the beastly-ness that is this rack. Highly recommend!

Fantastic.
Better than my previous Rogue Rack (Monster Lite). EVERYTHING about the rack was better than my previous Rogue SML-2/H2. Seriously. I have no idea how someone would pick that over a Hydra. .Read full review
