I honestly love rogue and rep fitness products. My basement isn’t high enough so i wouldnt have been able to fit rogue latpull down plus it was more than double the price.
Then decided to check out bells of steel lat pulldown, honestly blew my mind. Very well built. Dont even need to bolt it down. Very sturdy and solid build. Although if it was 3x3 it would’ve felt like rogue but nonetheless its fire. I can recommend this to anyone but must get the weight stack. I love the color coded stickers as well. Ended up buying few nice attachments

I couldn’t be happier with this lat pulldown/low row machine. Assembly took me about an hour and a half on my own, which I thought was very reasonable, and everything went together cleanly with no issues. The build quality is excellent, very solid and well engineered.

The pulleys run incredibly smooth and the motion feels just like what you’d expect from a commercial machine, but in a much more compact footprint that fits perfectly in my home gym. It doesn’t take up unnecessary space, yet still feels stable and heavy-duty when loaded.

Overall, this machine exceeded my expectations. Great value, great design, and a huge addition to my workouts. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable, space-friendly lat pulldown/low row combo.

Best purchase I've made in a long time. Added so many extra possibilities to my shed gym and kicked off my new obsession with cable accessories.

Struggled with plate loaded vs the stack decision. Plate loaded seems good for my needs, and makes it easy to move the machine around while you're trying to optimize layout. I also appreciate BoS indulging my FOMO and letting me upgrade to a stack later.

Quality is great. All the welds are solid, parts line up, powder coating is plenty durable and I have no concerns about the longevity of the machine in my gym with so-so climate control. After a month, no squeaks or creeks.

Assembly is fine, you definitely need a second person for parts of it and you're a certified genius if you can do it from the printed manual alone. I used the manual and referred to the video in the BoS playlist for parts that were unclear. Took me about 2 hours with minimal swearing.

I was on the fence about buying the plate loaded version over the weight stack version. Man I am happy with my choice the plate loaded version is more functional with the range of motion. I am about 6’2 225lbs. I can hit my lats perfectly, triceps pull down full range motion. If you on the fence buy the plate loaded you won’t be missing out.

The Lat tower low row from bells of steel has been amazing. it’s extremely smooth, even with no weight on it except for the base plate, it travels effortlessly. There is no issue with the light weight feeling like it barely travels, which is an issue with some such devices. The eccentric and concentric move equally smoothly. The smaller pulleys that attach to the front of the low row don’t spin very smoothly, so I was concerned that there would be an issue when using the low row, but even at 10 pounds the eccentric moves, almost as if it wasn’t attached to anything and just fell with the normal force you would expect with gravity.

Like with pretty much any Non commercial cable machine, there can be an issue with the selector rod hitting the top plate on the eccentric, so you may need to use some sort of a shim underneath the feet of your device to get it perfectly centered, but this does not affect function. It just makes a little sound if it happens to tap the top plate, but you won’t feel a difference in the actual movement.

You won’t be able to do a full range of motion lateral raise or single arm chest fly with this due to the weight stack hitting the top of the machine before reaching full range of motion. The included chain is very helpful to allow for full range of motion for other exercises, but unless you have very short arms, a full ROM lateral raise or chest fly is just not possible.

I am able to get full range of motion leg extensions and leg curls. I do leg extensions using the low row function and sitting facing outward on the included seat. To get a deep stretch on leg extensions, I just sit pretty far forward on the seat, lean back, and hold onto the upright. The leg extensions that I do are single leg. I do them using an ankle strap, and I make sure that my leg is perfectly centered with the low row because otherwise you could end up pulling the cable off of the track to the side. For leg curls, I do them bent over and again with the ankle strap on the low row. I don’t stand straight up because seated leg curls more fully hit the hamstring than a lying leg curl. Bending forward while doing the standing leg curls, approximates a seated leg curl. I also have done standing hip abduction.

The Bells of Steel D handles are fantastic for full ROM cable curls with a deep stretch. I use the low row for this.

Some of the handles in this photo are over 15 years old and I was using them with my old TDS plate loaded Lat tower low row. That machine was nowhere near as smooth or sturdy as this one.

I made one slight modification. At the attachment point on the bottom crossmember of the machine, I added a carabiner. I added this to give a small extension to the cable. otherwise, I would’ve had to have the bolt that connects to the top of the weight stack be threaded less tightly to give me the necessary length of cable for proper function of the machine. It probably would’ve been fine like that, but for the extra security of having the bolt in the top of the cable stack, threaded fairly deeply in, I needed this carabiner to slightly extend the length of the cable. This probably won’t make much sense to you unless you have assembled this yourself. Normally, the eye of the cable that I’m showing in the photo is actually meant to be connected to the bolt inside of the bottom crossmember.

This machine finally made the commercial gym unnecessary for me to get a full workout. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a single cable machine that, when paired with a power rack and a few dumbbell pairs or adjustable dumbbell or loadable dumbbell handles, will allow a complete workout and make the commercial gym unnecessary.

First let's start with the Good:
Shipping: The pulldown arrive very quickly. It was on my doorstep 3 days after I ordered it. I was pleasantly surprised by that. Good job BoS for your prompt processing and shipping!
Packaging: Although the boxes were beat up a bit (thanks FedEx), everything (mostly) survived and came well protected in cardboard and bubble wrap. The pads were all intact with no tears and all metal components were oiled up and rust free. Once more, good job BoS!
The Lat-Pull down itself: I tend to be hyper-critical and "nitpicky" according to everyone that knows me. However I can, without reservation, say that the Lat pulldown itself is outstanding! Before purchase I was contemplating either a Used commercial Unit, a similar (significantly less expensive) unit from a competing vendor (rhymes with "Whiten"), or the BoS unit. I chose the BoS unit based on design preferences. I was hoping it would meet my expectations (of being solid, stable, smooth and quiet) - but it actually exceeded them! It is incredibly solid and offers a commercial-grade level of smoothness. If you were blindfolded and placed on both the BoS Pulldown and a Commercial Gym pulldown - you would struggle to pick which was the BoS unit. It's that smooth and solid. I could not be more pleased and cannot recommend it highly enough. But you're probably asking...If I love it that much, why did I only give it 4-stars? I'll tell you why - because I had to assemble the machine (just as you will). Therefore I also have to critique the assembly instructions and process.
The instructions (as many have already stated) are utter and complete dookie-poop. I recognize that BoS now offers an instructional YouTube video supplement - and it does help make assembly more manageable. But the paper instructions included in the unit are a crime against trees. Fortunately only 2 pages were used of said trees...unfortunately, due to their frugality, each page contains about 30 different (un-numbered and non-chronological) steps with zero-words or actual guidance or instruction. It's a "Choose your own adventure" cave-painting instruction manual. You can proceed in whatever order or direction you want, using barely legible pictograms for nut and bolt selections. Normally, this probably wouldn't be that big of a deal, however, remember when I said everything "mostly" survived shipping? Well the blister-pack that sealed all of the assorted nuts and bolts to the numbered card-board template, was ruptured during shipping. 80% of my nuts/bolts/washers were free-floating in the box. I had no idea what size or number they were. Fortunately I'm a reasonably handy guy and I've assembled several other pulley-based workout machines, so I was able to figure it out, but the instructions weren't doing me any favors. For this single reason I'll subtract a single star.
BoS - excellent work on the machine...seriously, really top-notch design and implementation. It's a shame that the assembly "manual" is such a disaster.

I just assembled and tried a few exercise selections on the plate loaded lat pulldown/low row. Shipping was very prompt and all pieces were well packaged to prevent damage or missing parts.
Assembly was fairly straight forward. If you have any mechanical knowledge, it’s easy to figure out how to assemble this thing. I agree the instructions could be a little more detailed. It’s more like following diagrams and paint by number basis. The hardware is of Chinese origin and pretty cheap. Easy to strip bolt heads if not careful. My advice, assemble and hand tighten the nut/bolts until it’s all assembled, then go ahead and tighten down after. The unit feels quite solid after it’s all tightened down.
I had to test it after assembly and it seems like it will suit my needs just fine. Thankfully the foot rest plate comes off because I’ve scraped the back of my calves a time or two getting up and out of the seat.

Another solid product from BoS.

Things I love:
Looks amazing
Solid (do not have it currenntly bolted down)
Exercises feel good using machine (6' tall)
Smooth pulleys.
Should last forever.

Things I don't like:
Weight load pegs should be chrome instead of black
One of rods was longer than the other, hade to try to shim it as it moves slightly and can make noise.
Assembly and instructions. I hated both. Millwright diagrams are fine but lacking. Vid was better but found too late. (long story)
Get a friend to help, it will be easier. I assembled mine solo.

Change the load pegs to chrome and take the paper instructions and add a version on paper close to the vid with steps. What if you don't have access to vid?
Even putting small number stickers on the parts like the vid had marked in paint. Would make the matching of bolts/holes on parts much quicker.

Price is great, product is awesome. Another winner from a great company.
Just a few tweaks needed (IMO)but nothing that would keep me from recommending to home gym owners.
