Bought and installed on my Rogue Monster Lite rack and it’s awesome. BYOB option fit my needs as I liked the idea of a full size 45lbs bar and the best part is it’s no additional floor space! Very smooth! If you’re looking for a smith option in your gym this is one of the best options I’ve seen and used. Great job Bell of Steel!

Very well built. Depending on your strength, you may want a hand installing it. I wore myself out trying to man handle each side and get a bolt through it and the bracket by myself. However, i did install it a few times. I thought my cross members needed to move down and they did not. Everything worked well on my titan 2x3 rack. If I want to angle it more ill have to drill into my uprights but am going to test it as it is first. If your rack is not plumb you will have issues; the bar catch will bind up on one end and walk almost off the pin at the other end. After installing mine I had to re anchor one side of my rack turns out it was 2 inches out and I didnt know it. The bring your own bar kit is nice, it does take awhile of messing with it to understand how it works. However, I will say the carriage on each side plus the bar gets your starting weight at about 70 lbs.

This works inside the Mirafit M3 208H x 90W rack. The compromise is that you will lose holes at the front of the rack as the uprights need to be rotated to achieve the hight below the cross members for the Smith to fit. If you try this without rotating the uprights you can only fit the Smith at the front of the rack and will need to buy stability legs to mount it on. I'm posting this more as a proof of concept, it's a popular rack/brand in the UK and I couldn't really get to the bottom of whether this would work. Definitely needs two people and is a fiddly. I may move the smith more central within the rack over the coming weeks. However, this allows me to do everything I need at present without the requirement of having to reset JCUPs, spotters, bar. I still have the ability to use the front of the rack but as you can it's more limitated in terms of hole availability. This is a comprise that I'll accept to get more from the rack overall. It's new, appears smooth in operation and is as expected. This is the bar included option.

I was able to mount this on the Standard Commercial Rack. Several of my questions prior to purchase about fitment (including pictures of my current rack set up) went unanswered by BOS support, which was disappointing. So hopefully this review helps others with same rack. I wanted to make sure that the inside of my rack was still useable for regular barbell work - namely squats. I can confirm that there's sufficient space to continue to use the inside of the rack, especially with the monolifts . The top crossmembers do need to be all lowered by one hole, which is very unfortunate and annoying and probably took the longest. Word of advice, don't be lazy like me and do remove all the plates off the rack before removing the top crossmembers - I'll just leave it at that! It seems like those of us with light commercial rack are an afterthought. I am not sure why the instructions state that attachment can ONLY be mounted on an angle in the commercial light rack. I was able to mount it straight. I think it would make sense for customer support to inquire what kind of rack you have before sending out the hardware. In the end I was left with a bunch of massive bolts , nuts, and washers (I am guessing for Manticore racks) - seems like an unnecessary waste. Also neither the video nor the instructions mention the split washers - there's one master diagram that shows them. One, I would say, significant challenge was adding the components onto the rails once the smith upright was mounted onto the rack. It's kind of glossed over in the instructions and the video but if you have a short rack like the commercial rack, there's not enough clearance at the top to slide the rail high enough to be able to slide the pulley system onto the rail from underneath. The instructions suggest removing the crossmember at the top but that wouldn't work for the commercial rack since the Smith upright itself is mounted to the upper crossmember. The only solution is to mount the entire pulley and bar system onto the rails before mounting the upright. This makes the unit quite unwieldy and heavy and installation becomes AT LEAST a 2 person job (I had 3). The good news is that springs and safeties can be slid onto the rails from the bottom at a later stage as per the video/instructions. There are many ways to configure/attach the brackets to the rack/crossmembers so play around with various orientations. For my install, it worked best to have the bottom brackets facing to the back of the rack to make all the holes line up. I guess one important point is if mounted inside the rack, the safety straps can no longer be used. Which is okay if you have spotter arms for safeties but again something to consider.
The attachment itself works well. I would say the rotation of the bar is a little stiff/tight and requires some effort. My wife found it challenging, compared to the commercial smiths at the gym.

I got the BYO bar version and this fitted my non-BOS 75mm x 75mm, 1" hole rack beautifully. The build quality is exceptional. It's EXTREMELY solid and the bearings glide like butter on a hot fry pan. One unusual thing that took me aback was the level and quality of the assembly instructions. I'd got so used to extremely basic, usually Chingrish written, instructions with hard to decipher diagrams that the ones that came with this were truly a breath of fresh air. I'd give this a 9.99995 out of 10. The only thing I "modified" was the little screws used for the bar limit stops. I used slightly longer (about 5mm longer) screws which gave me a little bit more fiddle room with the bar hook.

I wasn't sure if it would work with my Rogue SML-2 90" squat stand, but after staring at the instructions for a few hours I decided to risk it and let me tell you... it was worth it! I had to drill a few holes in the squat stand to really secure the bottom brackets. Could of drilled out for the top brackets but didn't really need to and is rock solid as is. (stand also bolted to the floor) The smith rack attachment is very well thought out, very high quality and has become my new favorite piece of equipment. On the squat stand it is such a small footprint for an insane amount of exercises. I did not use the springs on the safety catches because I'm trying to get it low enough for hip thrusters. Even then, its still a bit high so I need to use a step to place my feet high enough. That's a minor issue but you should be aware of it. Otherwise, its an 11 out of 10 ...or 5+ stars. I highly recommend. Awesome product, great price. Nice work BOS.

For those wondering, this product is compatible with an Ethos power rack, but some modifications are necessary. I had to enlarge the half-inch holes to 5/8 inch, which was not a problem. However, the machine cannot be placed vertically at the front of the rack due to the brackets on the bottom. Additionally, some bolts may need to be hammered through due to the tight fit. Assembly was not overly difficult, but calibrating the machine to my barbell was challenging and time-consuming. Once calibrated, the machine works smoothly and effectively, and I highly recommend it.

This attachment is now the centrepiece of our home gym. I was able to test it out in the Toronto show room and ordered it shortly after. I’m very impressed with the build quality and feel. As someone dealing with a back injury this piece of equipment has unlocked so many exercises when my body isn’t in the mood for traditional barbell lifts. It is worth noting that the range of motion is limited for both depth (due to the lower crossmember required height) and the height because of the length of the guide rods, but accommodates the vast majority of lifts that would be accessible on a standalone smith machine. We opted to leave out the safety catches and springs to allow for a lower depth which hasn’t been an issue because we use it more for accessory work than heavy lifts.

First off I love bells of steel equipment, 90% of my home gym is their stuff. Just got this today and even watching the video online on how to assemble it and the 2 manuals included it was a pain to install. Took me and my wife quite a while to figure it out. Now that’s it’s together I can’t wait to use it and it looks like it will work great, but if you get frustrated with good instructions these ones will definitely throw you for a loop.
