Spotter Arms (Pair)

At Columbus East High School (Columbus, IN), we updated 12 of our racks with the Manticore Spotter Arms and we are very happy with the upgrade. The true 3"x3" dimensions fit perfectly with our existing uprights. They are extremely well made and sure to last for many years to come. Massive thank you to Andrew Ponsler for his assistance!

These spotter arms are incredibly well built and very strong. I have no concerns with safety when I use them. They are very strong.

We use the spotter arms outside of the rack to maximize capability with two lifters. But more often I use them to facilitate other exercises like lat pulldown and racks for a sudo-pendilum/hack squat. The spotter arms are a must have safety item but also very useful in creative ways.

They work great in my very small space.

The website description of these spotter arms doesn't it justice. The Manticore version is not only build like a tank but it's fully lined with UHMW on the arms and well as the attachment areas. It is not 12 inches in height. It is only 10 inches high, not the most compact on the market but the best available at this price point.

My rack came with safety straps that I love. They've saved my butt several times on squats and bench presses that I couldn't complete. I have no fears of performing these exercises when I'm alone. I bought these to give me the same level of protection on overhead presses and they have already demonstrated the desired level of protection on the overhead press. I now have no worries on exercising alone. At 79, that's about the only way I exercise now.

The arms also come with very high quality magnetic attachment locking pins. These pins are only needed if heavy attachments are added to the sides of the arms. They anchor the arms in place when the attachments are loaded so they don't rotate like the Rep spotter arms do.

The size and placement of the holes for the locking pins is my only minor peeve. I have a non-BOS rack that has true 3 x 3" uprights with 1" holes at 2" spacing. I have lots of 3 x 3" attachments from other manufacturers that fit fine on the rack. Unfortunately, the bottom holes in my spotter arms don't line up perfectly with holes in my rack. The result is that I can only partially seat the pins in the holes. It's a stable fit but annoying that they don't fully seat. The fix is simple. BOS could make the bottom holes in the arms slightly larger in diameter (less than 1/8" larger) and/or make the holes slightly oblong to accommodate small hole spacing differences.

These work as intended and fit fine on my rogue SML 2. I do wish they included some UHMW on the rack attachment side but I know that drives up the cost. No issues so far.

Bos Spotter arms awesome. it so strong and sturdy. i feel confident when lifting heavy weight with these arms. A must have., safety first.

Added these spotter arms to my order of my foldable wall mounted squat rack. Got it set up this week, and I was VERY happy with how well these arms appear to be constructed and extremely solid feel when putting them to use! Well done BOS!

This is an awesome addition to my rack for some heavy pressing work!

I upgraded from some cheap-o arms that started making me nervous to rely on. I totally underestimated the beefy-ness of these spotter arms! I noticed my other spotter arms bending a bit when the weight started getting up there. These things are so solid and I love the hitch pin to really lock them in. 5/5 would purchase again!

I did notice these had some cosmetic defects which was abnormal for BOS based on all my other purchases. The lip on the end of one arm had a small bend and there was some scratching on the other spotter arm. It doesn’t affect the functionality at all so I’m still happy to give them 5 stars!

The spotter arms are sturdy and feel premium.

I bought a pair to go with my all in one trainer. The brackets on both arms were bent causing the arms to severely tilt forward and not hug the uprights properly. This would make the bar roll to the end of the arms. I contacted support. They were quick to respond and offered several options to remedy the issue. I eventually received replacement arms. The brackets were welded properly but the fit on the upright was still a little loose for my liking. I added some black velcro to the brackets to add some thickness. Now they fit tightly on the upright without issue

Fantastic and functional. I got the 2.3” ones to go with my residential rack. Budget oriented, but don’t let that make you think they won’t perform. These only skimp on “icing” things like liners on the bit the touch your rack uprights. They’re heavier duty than the rack itself.

Only complaint, hence the 4-stars, is that the plastic liners are very soft. Much softer than the j-cup material, which I’m told is so it REALLY
protects your barbell, but they are soft to the point that the are easily dented if you use them for other things (you can dig your fingernail into it pretty easily). Not a huge deal, but I’d way rather have the denser material on there.

Overall, they’re awesome for the price and built-solid.
