I purchased the Hydra rack (84") with feet and the Smith attachment. I initially had some issues with shipping - the rear crossmember was left out of the freight shipment - but BoS made it right immediately. I wanted the flat-foot version so I wouldn't have to drill holes in my basement floor, and I wanted to attach the Smith to the front of the rack, not inside. Through my own confusion, and because the written instructions didn't cover my specific configuration, I assumed more parts were missing and contacted them again. They were kind enough to walk me through the exact process needed to complete my installation, in the way I wanted to build it, and a member of the Parts team was even nice enough to provide written instructions, a link to a video of the Smith being installed on a different type of rack in the same way, and photos of what steps I needed to change from the written directions.
Bells of Steel has a customer for life in me, not just because of the rack's quality, but because they went well above and beyond to help me set up the rack exactly how I wanted.
The rack itself is very, very solid. After assembly, but before building the Smith attachment, I had to move it three inches to get it to where I wanted it to live permanently. It took me ten minutes. I am not a small man, and I am not a weak man. This thing is solid. The rack came together quickly. The Smith attachment was much easier to assemble than I worried it would be, and it's also as solid as can be.…

Before you choose
What is included in this fixed package?
Four 90-inch uprights, four 43-inch crossmembers, one logo plate crossmember, one 43-inch straight pull-up bar, four safety-strap connectors, one pair of 43-inch safety straps, one pair of J-cups and one logo tag.
Does preconfigured mean it arrives assembled?
No. It is one fixed complete kit supplied for assembly. The supplier lists 12 shipping boxes. Read the manufacturer’s Hydra manual before assembly and use.
Can I choose another height or rack depth?
This listing is the fixed configuration with 90-inch uprights and 43-inch crossmembers. Contact BlackBear if you need help choosing a different rack configuration.
Are barbells, plates, benches or cable systems included?
No. Only the rack components listed above are included. Barbells, plates, benches, cable systems, storage pegs and other additional equipment in lifestyle photographs are sold separately.
Which attachments fit?
Use Hydra attachments made for true 76.2 × 76.2mm uprights with ⅝-inch holes. Check each attachment’s exact fitting and mounting requirements. A 75 × 75mm rack is a different size, and Manticore attachments use a different 1-inch hole standard.
Does it need floor anchoring?
Follow the manufacturer’s floor-anchoring instructions. The supplier specifically says to bolt this four-post rack down before pull-up use. Use suitable fixings for your floor and seek installation advice if needed.
Can BlackBear arrange installation?
Ask for a separate installation quote using the form below. Include your postcode, access details and the rack configuration. Installation is quoted separately from the equipment price.
